What they did
The poster runs a small Berlin job board and kept seeing applicants trip on the same things: English ads that quietly need fluent German, searches that miss jobs posted under German titles, Blue Card salary thresholds and CVs that ignore German conventions. They built a Claude Code plugin with slash commands. It searches the federal employment agency's listings, their own board, Arbeitnow and 33 company applicant tracking boards in German and English, then scores a shortlist. An evaluate step quotes the exact language line, annualises pay against the 2026 Blue Card thresholds and scores fit against the CV. An apply step writes, then runs a separate reviewer pass against a nine point checklist, and renders a German Lebenslauf and cover letter or an English CV to PDF. Python scripts do the API calls, salary parsing and PDF rendering; Claude does scoring, writing and mock interviews.
How it went
Before release they ran it end to end on two real job seekers, a recruiter in Berlin and a master's student in Munich. The first version showed the recruiter engineering jobs, with only 29% of results on target, and a search for Munich returned nothing while München worked. After choosing sources per field and phrase matching titles, 87% of results were on target and city names work in either language.
Worth knowing
It never applies or sends anything; the person submits. The poster treats job ads as untrusted input and has it flag hidden text such as instructions telling an AI to rate the candidate highly. It is a maker's launch post, tested on two people.
