Track bookstore distribution and sales from an e-book seller dashboard

Sungsoo Youn's daily Claude Code agent found that a distribution request its own reminder kept asking for had been filed 42 days earlier, and now reads each bookstore's status and sales table every evening.

What they did

Youn runs an autonomous Claude Code agent every day on one Windows PC, with a CLAUDE.md, memory files and a separate auditor agent. The Korean edition of Youn's book sells on a Korean e-book platform that forwards books to partner bookstores once they have an ISBN. The agent's evening summary carried a reminder to request bookstore distribution when the ISBN arrived. On 12 October, before pressing anything, the agent opened the seller screens and read them without changing state.

How it went

The sales screen showed eight bookstores, all requested on 31 August: two on sale, one sent, five pending. The reminder had been checking a ledger field no code ever filled. The evening run now reads that screen daily, stores each store's status and first day on sale, and only flags rejections or stops. A second change reads the monthly bookstore sales table for every year from 2026 on, leaving out the platform's own column to avoid double counting. The two fixes came with 10 and 13 tests, and the auditor sent the first pass back.

Worth knowing

Resubmitting a book on this platform sends it back to waiting for approval, so acting on a stale reminder had a real cost. Bookstore sales only land in the table on the 10th of the month, and Youn did not yet know whether the figures are prices or payouts. Youn sells a book about this setup.

With Claude Code· 3 parts to fill in

Every evening, open the seller dashboard for [my book on the e-book platform] and read, without pressing any button that changes state, the status of each [bookstore or sales channel]. Store each channel's status and the first date you saw it on sale, and in my summary only flag channels that were rejected or stopped. Also read the [monthly sales table] and add channel sales to my revenue count, leaving out anything already counted elsewhere. If you cannot read a screen, say the status is unknown and do not repeat any request. Write tests for each change and show me before changing a reminder or a goal.

Square brackets are the parts to fill in. The prompt is ours; the story is theirs.
