What they did
Anmolrajput, a backend engineer, installed an open-source LinkedIn skills plugin (version 1.1.0) in the Code tab of the Claude desktop app and logged in to LinkedIn in Chrome with Claude in Chrome connected. They asked Claude to optimise their profile and gave it the profile link. Claude opened each detail page (experience, skills, Featured, education, recommendations), scored nine parts of the profile as pass, fail or needs work, and ranked the fixes. It then showed a before and after for every failing section and only edited the live profile after each approval, reading the page back to confirm each change stuck.
How it went
Five of nine parts failed the audit. In one day Claude rebuilt the headline, cut the About section from about 2,200 to 1,240 characters, added three Featured items, removed four skills and added 22, rewrote seven role descriptions, merged a duplicate education entry, cropped and uploaded a new headshot, and set Open to Work to recruiters only. It drafted a personal recommendation for three former colleagues and sent the requests; all three posted. The starting point was 77 profile views and 46 search appearances a week, and the author has not yet reported whether those numbers moved.
Worth knowing
Profile edits can notify your whole network; the author kept that switch off on every form, and Claude skipped LinkedIn's offer to turn updates into posts. The plugin needs a paid Claude plan. Placeholders like [X] in the rewrites still need your real numbers.
