What they did
The poster wanted a short video every time they shipped something but never had time to edit one, so they wrote a Claude Code skill called hype-reel. Given a product URL, Claude opens the site in headless Chrome and captures desktop, mobile and full-page screenshots, decides on the pitch, three features to show and one number, writes a storyboard, and animates it with Framer Motion using a library of 12 scene types. It then renders a frame-exact 1080 by 1920 MP4 with ffmpeg, which npm installs. Voice-over is supported. The skill is MIT licensed on GitHub.
How it went
The poster made four unofficial reels from the public sites of Supabase, Linear, Resend and Cal.com, each from a single prompt plus a check of the still frames. One commenter said it works well. The poster gave no figures on render time or token use.
Worth knowing
Commenters noted a similar open-source project already exists and that a plain prompt in other Claude tools can get close; the author says the skill saves the rounds of fixes. It drives the local Chrome install and needs no API key. Check the stills before rendering, as the author did.
